PROCESS ENGINEER

SUMMARY: The candidate for this position will be responsible for monitoring the operations of our systems, including quality and compliance.  The candidate should also be able to recommend and conduct improvements to the process through the tracking of metrics, reporting of data, and implementation of actions.  The candidate should have strong technical abilities to succeed in this role.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, analyze, and improve operations KPI’S.
  • Identify and conduct process improvement projects based on KPI’S.
  • Identify and conduct cost saving projects based on KPI’S.
  • Apply lean management methods including but not limited to:
  • Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC)
  • CIP/Kaizen (PDCA)
  • 5S
  • Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED)
  • 7 kinds of waste
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • Conduct product performance trials by using design of experiments (DoE)
  • Analyze data and performance KPI’S with excel or statistical analysis software.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Ability to oversee and monitor work performed by personnel associated with projects to ensure that plans, scope, and specifications are being followed.
  • Ability to oversee project audits when needed.
  • Ability to help resolve conflicts and negotiate ideas during projects to ensure positive outcome.
  • Ability to train employees and help implement projects.

 

 

 

 

 

 

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Good technician abilities.
  • Good leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking, including proper grammar and syntax).

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 2-5 years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:  experience with Lean management
