Die Cutter Assistant Operator


As part of an overall manufacturing team, be able to perform all aspects of the operation of the Die Cutting machine at the Safest and highest quality levels. Assist in other areas when needed. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Die Cutter. Ensures the material being formed and cut meets the customer’s specifications through quality testing. Ensures compliance to Safety and GMP/SQF requirements.



  • Use the proper personal protective equipment required to perform the job duties.
  • Operate one or all Die Cutting Machines as a member of the production team who is multi- skilled and cross trained on all department process equipment.
  • Work as a team with fellow team members to achieve the departmental goals in safety, quality, and efficient operation of the equipment.
  • Demonstrate expertise on all required Die Cutting equipment and processes.
  • Assist in training new team members on all equipment and processes.
  • Read and understand order schedules and work orders for current and upcoming jobs including specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production reporting, SAP and PDC functions for the jobs.
  • Perform Pre-Start Inspections of the machine and material to ensure that safe operation will begin.
  • Perform all quality checks and make machine adjustments during start up.
  • Plan ahead and make sure the needed material is ready for production when needed.
  • Perform periodic visual quality checks of the material throughout the run and adjust the Die
  • Cutting machine to ensure zero defects are sent to the customer.
  • Perform sampling and quality checking throughout the run using testing equipment for measuring the dimensions of the customer product.
  • Perform daily and periodic cleaning of the machine and department to maintain 5S and
  • GMP/SQF standards throughout the manufacturing area.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the Tool to prevent premature wear of the moving parts.
  • Observe and make recommendations on all issues regarding safety, quality, waste and production efficiency.
  • Notify maintenance personnel on any mechanical or electrical problem with the equipment by writing a work order and giving it to the maintenance person on duty. Follow up with maintenance and the Die Cutting Area Leader or Safety Supervisor.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Basic knowledge of computer software and functions


  • Must be available to work days or nights; 12-hour shift; working a 2/2/3 Schedule (off every other Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
